Buyer Protection
What’s covered
Every purchase on SuitCycle is covered by Buyer Protection. If your suit doesn't arrive or is significantly not as described (wrong item, undisclosed damage, or materially different condition), you're eligible for a full refund.
How to open a dispute
Open a dispute within 48 hours of delivery confirmation from your order page, or, for an item that never arrives, when tracking shows no movement for 10 or more business days after the expected delivery window. Provide photos and a clear description of the issue. SuitCycle reviews disputes within 3 business days. Please use the in-app dispute process rather than a card chargeback so we can help resolve the issue.
What’s not covered
Buyer Protection does not cover fit or size issues, buyer's remorse, minor cosmetic differences not affecting performance, or items that match their SuitScore™ grade description accurately. Off-platform transactions are not covered.
Shipping Policy
Seller responsibilities
Sellers must ship within 3 business days of payment confirmation and provide a valid tracking number. Shipping labels and tracking are generated through Shippo, our shipping partner, or a seller may enter their own tracking number. Suits must be packaged to prevent damage in transit. Orders not shipped within 3 business days are automatically canceled and the buyer is fully refunded.
Shipping costs
Shipping is offered through USPS, UPS, and FedEx, with live rates calculated by Shippo at checkout. For each listing, the seller chooses whether the buyer pays shipping or the seller covers it. When the buyer pays, the shipping cost is shown at checkout before purchase, and a faster service the buyer selects may add to that cost.
Handling and delivery windows
Sellers have 3 business days to ship after a purchase (the handling window). Once shipped, typical carrier transit times are 2 to 5 business days for standard service (USPS Ground Advantage), 1 to 3 business days for Priority, and 1 to 2 business days for Priority Express. Delivery times are carrier estimates and are not guaranteed.
International shipping
SuitCycle currently supports domestic US shipping only. International listings and transactions are not supported at this time.
Lost or damaged packages
If a package is lost in transit, open a dispute and SuitCycle will work with you on a resolution. Sellers are encouraged to purchase shipping insurance for high-value suits.
Returns & Refunds
General policy
All sales are final unless the item qualifies for Buyer Protection (not as described, not received). Buyers should review the SuitScore™ grade and photos carefully before purchasing.
Seller-initiated returns
Sellers may accept returns at their discretion. Any return agreement must be made through SuitCycle messaging so there is a record. Off-platform refunds are not facilitated by SuitCycle.
Refund timeline
Approved refunds are processed within 5-10 business days via Stripe. The refund is returned to the original payment method. Platform fees are non-refundable except in cases where the transaction is canceled before shipment.
Seller Payouts
Getting paid
Sellers are paid through Stripe. To receive payouts, a seller completes Stripe Connect onboarding, which verifies identity and collects payout and tax details. You can list and sell before finishing onboarding, but funds are held until onboarding is complete.
When funds are released
SuitCycle holds the sale funds until a delivery event: when the buyer confirms delivery, when the carrier reports delivery, or automatically 7 days after shipment if the buyer does not confirm. After release, payouts typically reach your Stripe account within 2 to 5 business days, subject to Stripe's payout schedule.
What is deducted
The marketplace fee (10% standard) is taken from the sale price only, never from shipping. Any seller-side perk costs and seller-covered shipping are also deducted from the payout. Shipping charges paid by the buyer are not part of the seller's payout.
SuitScore™ Grading Standards
Seller grading obligation
Sellers must accurately grade their suit using the SuitScore™ system (Gold, Podium, Prelim, Backup, Practice). Deliberate misgrading is a violation of marketplace rules and may result in account suspension.
Dispute based on grading
If a buyer believes a suit was materially misgraded (e.g., listed as Podium but condition is clearly Practice), they may dispute it. SuitCycle considers the published tier criteria when adjudicating grading disputes.
Verified SuitScore™
SuitCycle may offer an optional SuitScore™ Verification program, in which a SuitCycle reviewer independently grades a suit before it is listed and the listing displays a verification badge. This program may not be available at all times. SuitScore™ grades are otherwise self-reported by sellers and are not independently verified.
Prohibited & Restricted Items
What you may not list
Counterfeit or replica tech suits (including fake Arena, Speedo, TYR, or other brands); suits that have been chemically treated or structurally altered; suits listed under an inaccurate SuitScore™ tier; suits banned by World Aquatics (formerly FINA) from any era; stolen or unsafe items; and non-swimwear items of any kind.
Enforcement
SuitCycle may remove any listing that violates these rules and may warn, restrict, suspend, or permanently ban accounts for violations. Selling counterfeit goods or misrepresenting an item is a serious violation and may result in immediate removal.
Community Conduct
Respect
All users must communicate respectfully. Harassment, threats, hate speech, or discriminatory conduct of any kind will result in immediate account suspension.
Off-platform transactions
Attempting to conduct transactions outside of SuitCycle to avoid platform fees is strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent ban. Buyers are not protected for off-platform transactions.
Reporting violations
Use the in-app report button on any listing, review, or user to flag potential violations. Our moderation team reviews all reports within 48 hours.
Reviews and ratings
Reviews must reflect genuine transaction experiences. Fake, retaliatory, manipulated, or defamatory reviews are not allowed and may be removed. Enforcement is handled case by case, from warnings for minor issues up to permanent suspension for repeated or serious violations.
Messaging conduct
All buyer-seller communication must follow our Messaging Guidelines, which cover respectful communication, prohibited conduct, and enforcement consequences.
