Built by swimmers, for swimmers

Swim new life into
tech suits

SuitCycle connects athletes who need a competitive edge with those who have suits to spare.

The vision

Tech suits were made to race, not retire

Tech suits are built for speed. Bonded seams, targeted compression, and water-repellent fabric work together to reduce drag and maximize performance. Most of that engineering holds up long after a swimmer outgrows the suit or moves to a newer model. Racing it twice and retiring it wastes most of what it was built to do.

SuitCycle keeps these suits in the water. Each listing features a SuitScore™ condition grade, meaning no vague secondhand descriptions. SuitScore™ gives a specific tier that outlines how the suit has actually been used, so buyers know exactly what they're getting before ever checking out.

The goal is a healthier ecosystem for the sport where performance gear is kept in circulation and swimmers are given a trusted place to buy and sell with confidence.

Competitive swimmer in a tech suit

How it started

A swimmer's idea

Kevin O'Donoghue

Kevin O'Donoghue

Founder · Illinois competitive swimmer

“Growing up swimming in Illinois, I was always aware of how many athletes didn't own a tech suit. Some couldn't justify the price, some were still convincing their parents, some just weren't sure they were ‘serious enough’ to race in one yet.

What struck me was the other side of that equation. So many swimmers had perfectly good suits sitting in a closet or stuffed in the bottom of a swim bag. I knew of many tech suits that hadn't even been bought, just passed along by other swimmers. There was clearly no shortage of suits, just no good way to connect them with those who needed them.

SuitCycle is the answer to that. By helping suits get back in the water, we make sure swimmers, no matter their budget, age, or experience, can step up to the blocks feeling confident.”
